The MarChE Team will work aggressively to link enterprises to new sources of financing including commercial credit and equity investment.
Working with the USAID-funded MSME project, the CNFA Team will help small producers to access micro-credit, and will work with its partner SOGEBANK and others to develop new targeted loan products for key value-chains.
Over the life of the project at least 500 SMEs will gain access to credit with assistance from the CNFA Team.
Grants under Contract will be used strategically to catalyze private sector investment, leveraging at least $5 million in private sector funding.
The CNFA Team’s significant experience managing matching grant programs and developing GDA partnerships will guide and catalyze these transformational investments.
Over $60 million of CNFA’s USAID resources to date have been disbursed in the form of matching enterprise grants supporting agricultural value-added chains and leveraging well over $100 million in private sector investment.
In addition, CNFA is leading the implementation of the West Africa Seed Alliance (WASA) USAID/West Africa cutting-edge $65 million GDA Alliance bringing together the Rockefeller and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations (through their Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa), Monsanto, Pioneer, ICRISAT, and others in a program designed to transform the West African commercial seed industry and link smallholder farmers of five West African countries to commercial market chains.
