ABOUT MARCHE : OBJECTIVES

 

While a full description of the timing of program activities and results is found in the Work and Milestone Plan, selected results include:

  1. Domestic and export sales of products and services (20% annually for traditional products and 30% for non-traditional) have increased;

  2. Sales of supported market chains to the tourism sector have increased by 25% annually;

  3. 1,500 SMEs are using improved production technologies;

  4. Two financial institutions have developed new financial products and 500 SMEs have gained access to credit;

  5. 5,000 hectares of lowlands are under market-based, large or contract type farm management;

  6. Employment opportunities for Haitian citizens in rural areas have been created; and

  7. Natural resources management has improved through increases in value of environmentally friendly products.
